President and CEOWith a consulting career that spans 25 years, a dedication to superior performance, and a personality rife with warmth and humor, John Rivers is the consummate ally for business leaders confronting challenge and change.
John founded JDR Consulting in 2004 to provide stellar work to the most demanding companies. Since that time, he and his team have managed hundreds of system implementations, conversions and upgrades. Their work includes extensive training, helpdesk staffing, business process optimization and accounting services. JDR has also been recognized by Yardi as a premiere partner consulting firm.
“I believe that everyone has something to offer. I don’t care who you are or what your role is; I want to know you and I want you to be comfortable. Every single person has something to offer that makes us all better.”
John guides his staff with an eye toward inclusion and reinforcement, believing that positive esteem and teamwork are a key part of what differentiates JDR Consulting.
Outside of the office, John also exemplifies his commitment to caring, giving back to the community as past National Board Member, Greater NY Tri-state Steering committee and 2 years as Gala Co-Chair for Human Rights Campaign, where in just over 4 years, John helped raise more than $2.5M. John also holds memberships with the Manhattan Chamber of Commerce, the Society for Human Resource Management, and the New York chapter of the Ohio University Alumni Association.
John received a B.A. in finance from Ohio University and an M.B.A. in professional accounting from Fordham University, after which he worked for such well-reputed accounting firms as Deloitte & Touche and Grant Thornton, LLP.
“It’s all about listening. That’s how you learn.”
